A native of Indiana, Mikial received his first guitar at the age of three, and was performing by the age of seven. Inspired by everyone from John Lennon to John Scofield, not only a Guitarist, but a singer/songwriter, Mikial Robertson released his first solo CD "Simulator" in 2005.a funk fusion guitar album. He has been featured in many publications including Guitar Player magazine. He has recently been working hard on a new direction and has just released his second solo CD "Fireside Philoshopher". It’s an exciting eclectic mix witty lyrics, sophisticated acoustic guitar and driving hand percussion.
His live shows currently feature him on-stage accompanied by Steve Rowland on percussion and vocals. He creates backing loops in the moment, building and improvising as he goes. He is a unique performer with a world beat fusion style and is inspiring audiences everywhere with his impassioned live performances.
Mikial Robertson has shared concert billing with national artists including: Shinedown, Huey Lewis and the News Greensky Bluegrass Zach Deputy, Seven Walkers (Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead) Kyle Hollingsworth Band (member of String Cheese Incident), Eoto, Terrapin Flyer, Cornmeal, That 1 Guy, Roots of Creation, Ali Baba's Tahini(Jake Cinninger of Umphrey's McGee), Papadosio, Pnuma Trio, The Twin Cats, Chicago Farmer, and many more talented musicians.
He was an original member of John Paul's Cybertribe with Steve Hunt(Alan Holdsworth band) on keys and Dave Buda( Boston Pops Symphony) on bass and Steve Michaud (Mahavishnu Tribute tour) on drums. He also accompanied Josh Logan(NBC super nova finalist) on bass for his first CD "Nobody's business"
