About Kay

Kay Insley has always had a love and passion for music stemming back to the tender age of three. Growing up in a Pastor’s home and attending weekly services, gospel music became an extensive part of her life. By the age of 9 she was singing in multiple venues including Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.

At the age of 13, and with a few years of piano experience under her belt Kay penned her first song. By the time she was a sophomore, she was singing in the Prestigious, top 5 nationally ranked, women’s and mixed Barron Collier High School choral group located in Naples, Fl. At the age of 16 she moved to Mooresville, Indiana and continued her love of performing in both Finesse, and Spotlighter show choir groups at Mooresville High School. Kay’s junior year she received performer of the year, and her senior year she received vocalist of the year.

After high school, Kay attended Valor Christian College located in Columbus, Ohio, where she studied Music Leadership. After college, Kay moved back to Fishers, Indiana and quickly landed a job as a music and art developmental teacher at Gymboree Play and Music. During this time she also became the Music Pastor at Discovery Church. Over the last several years Kay has had the opportunity to sing in Bucharest, Romania, Costa Rica, and to a packed out Hulman Center at Indiana State University.

Today Kay works professionally as a Music Pastor, a session vocalist, a voice instructor, as a solo artist most recently releasing and EP in April 2014, and as a member of a national recording group Zion’s Joy. Kay is passionate about passing here love of music on to her students and fostering a confidence in their talent.
