Bryan Headrick was 14 years old when he got his first guitar but his love of the guitar started long before that. As a boy, he loved collecting music and the sound of the guitar sang to his soul. From the moment he got a guitar he practiced night and day, honing his skills on classic rock from the '70's and buying every guitar publication he could get his hands on. A combination of hard work and good luck has paid off well for Bryan. At 17 years old, he began playing professionally in the Indianapolis area and he continues to play full time to this day. An average week for Bryan consists of 35-40 guitar lessons, two musical services with a local church and a couple of club gigs. His playing was broadcast in the Indy area for years on Q95 in the theme song, "Do The Dog", which introduced DJ Jimmy "Mad Dog" Mattis. He has also had the privilege of performing before several national acts which are listed below.
At the age of 19, Bryan began teaching guitar on the North side of Indianapolis. He estimates that he has taught over 50,000 guitar lessons since the early 1980's, often teaching as many as fifty five students per week. Rather than sticking to one style of playing, Bryan has become skilled at several styles of playing including singing/strumming, classic rock and metal, shred, blues, country, finger style and beginning classical guitar. Bryan's deep knowledge of musical styles, scales and music theory plus his years of teaching experience allow him to adapt many different types of students.
If you are passionate about the guitar and have a burning desire to learn, he would love to help you achieve your goals.
